You Lucky Dog! training classes put an emphasis on socialization and teach you how to interact with your dog in a way that they naturally understand. They are intended to help you train your dog with a balanced and positive training method that combines praise, encouragement and correction (NOT punishment) to enhance your dog's strong desire to please and work with you. Our small Group Classes offer you and your dog a chance to work around other dogs and real world distractions, while providing the individual attention you and your dog deserve!

We can help you design a training program specifically for you and your dog. We are here to help you succeed in building a loving, happy and long lasting relationship between you and your dog. A well behaved dog is an enjoyable companion and a pleasure to be with. Dog training is the best way to create that strong and lasting bond between you and your best friend.

Puppy Class

(8-16 weeks old at start of class)
Get off on the right paw with your new puppy during their initial "imprint" period.
In this class we offer your puppy a chance to socialize with other puppies and new people. We will be teaching you how to motivate your puppy to work, problem solving such as house-training, puppy nipping, digging, resource guarding, how to properly use a crate, leadership exercises, and more. We will break down commands such as focus, sit, down, come when called, and loose leash walking into simple, easy to achieve goals. This class is the first step in building that special relationship with your new puppy. The only prerequisite is that the puppies have their first set of immunizations administered by a veterinarian before they come to class.

Doggy Manners Class

This class is designed for the new dog owner, or for someone that wants to strengthen their bond with their best friend. Just like the Puppy Class we will be teaching you how to motivate your dog, properly give commands, problem solving, and general manners such as focus, sit, down, come when called, and walk on a loose leash. The Doggy Manners Class is the foundation to your relationship with your dog and the beginning of a great life together.

Lucky Companion Class

You Lucky Dog's Canine Companion Classes are a continuation of the Focus classes. Help your dog to be more comfortable and well mannered in your environment and in daily life. Using the latest motivational techniques, we will help you and your dog to master sit, down, stay, as well as heel, perfect loose leash walking, come when called, and behave well among other dogs. Once these behaviors are learned, we proof their behavior with various distraction techniques. We will be working on Life & Leadership exercises, everyday manners exercises, problem solving and more. After you and your dog complete this class, you will have the confidence and knowledge to take your Lucky Dog everywhere! The person doing the training should either be an adult or competent teenager. All dogs must be up to date on all vaccines. FRIENDLY DOGS ONLY.

Private Lessons

Some dogs need a less stimulating environment to learn in the beginning. Some owners need a little extra time with a trainer. Private lessons are a great opportunity to learn one on one in your home or in our private training room. We can work on specific issues, problem solve or refresh your skills with no distractions. To fit into your busy schedule Private Lessons are available throughout the week. The length and frequency of lessons vary depending on your needs.
