My name is Lucy (a.k.a Lucy "topknot", even though my topknot is a thing my youth) and it is safe to say that YLD is my preferred home away from home. I don’t always know where my mom is taking me when she puts me in the car, but when we pull up to YLD, I cannot wait to get into the building and be with my friends.

My days there are filled with untying Jim’s shoelaces, sitting on Mike’s lap, and playing with other dogs with my best dog friend, Spaulding. Sometimes Mindy brings me back and gives me a bath and a haircut so I can look my best on my walks in the neighborhood with mom (side note: Mango Tango is a really lovely scent – tell your friends). There is always someone to play with and something to do at YLD. When I come home, I’m usually too exhausted from all the YLD fun and excitement to go for my evening walk.

I know my mom really appreciates the love, care, and attention the YLD gives me on her busy days. She is also very thankful that I have a safe and comfortable place to stay when she has to travel. We cannot say enough good things about YLD and think all dogs should give it a try.
