Testimonials

My goldendoodles, Phoebe and Bo, have been visiting You Lucky Dog day care on a regular basis (2 to 3 times weekly) for the past two years. They love being there with Wendy, Mike, Jim and the rest of the staff. They play hard all day (except for a much needed two hour nap) and come home exhausted. The facility is perfect. Wendy makes sure it is always spotless. There is a huge outdoor space where they play unless the weather does not permit. In that case, the dogs hang out in a very large climate controlled room.

You Lucky Dog also provides boarding services. My husband and I travel frequently and it is so comforting to know that Wendy and her staff are taking excellent care of the doodles while we are away. Previously I boarded them at a local kennel where they were kept in crates all day. Not so at You Lucky Dog. I know my pups are having a super playcation while I am on vacation. It is fun and comforting to check the You Lucky Dog blog while away and see photos of my canine buddies romping and having a blast.

Wendy has assembled an awesome staff. I don't know who has the most fun, the dogs or the staff. They are there because they want to be there and you can tell they really enjoy our four legged companions. They make it their business to get to know the dogs, who plays with whom, etc. They are extremely knowledgeable. I have asked Mike a ton of questions and for guidance many times and he has always been capable and more than willing to help me.

Thanks to You Lucky Dog, Phoebe and Bo are happy and well adjusted dogs. They love spending time and hanging out with their friends. What dog wouldn't?

Hi, my name is Joe also known as Joe Cocker by my You Lucky Dog friends. I am a cocker spaniel mix who had a really tough beginning in the world. I was rescued from the side of the road; I was really sick and lost all of my hair. Life seemed bleak. Well, after I was adopted, my world changed. Not only is life good at home but my head honcho, Christa, takes me to this great place to play with all my friends called You Lucky Dog. I play so much here that I can barely make it to bed before my eyes close....woof.

Owner note: Everything Joe said is the truth. YLD knows and loves their dogs as much as their owners do. YLD is not in business to just amass as many dogs as possible; they are selective with pack introductions and get to know your dog's personality so that it is a fun and peaceful environment for all the dogs.

Every time you walk through the door, it is like you are handing your dog over to family. I have used both the daycare and boarding services and they are top notch. It is good to know that your dog spends most of his time in supervised play with the other dogs rather than being in a solitary run. And someone always stays with the dogs when you board overnight which is so comforting while you are way. Check out Wendy's dog blog too. Highly, highly recommend!!

Thanks for always taking care of Joe! Christa

Hi there! My name is Bella Rose and I have been going to You Lucky Dog for almost a year. My mum and dad really felt I needed socializing and wow, what a place to do it. I visit every two weeks. Sometimes I have a bath. I love being groomed and the manicure it to die for! The girls are so nice and give me lots of tickles on my tummy.

My favorite occupation is being pampered by Mike and Mary-Faith. I let everyone know when I'm being ignored with my special bark (I have them all so well trained) and I have a special high place outside where I can survey my domain. The humans are so cool and love to play just like us dogs. I love going and you will too! So get your parents to bring you along and you can meet me and my other friends. If you want to have company, play, be pampered and looked after with love and affection this is the place!

We have been taking our two dogs to You Lucky Dog for many years. The entire staff is knowledgeable and loves interacting with the animals. One of the best things about YLD is that they have personal relationships with each dog. For example, Mike pointed out, with concern, that our dog Sasha was a bit lethargic one day (our infant had kept everyone up the previous night) and Mary-Faith alerted us to the possibility that our dog's sneezing might be the result of early seasonal allergies. We know that our dogs get the best care at YLD!

YLD! is also great for people with busy schedules. They are open 12 hours a day during the week and it is very helpful to be able to drop the dogs off early in the morning and be able to pick them up late at night. While many other places charge for "extras," such as extended hours, there are no hidden costs because everything is included. This is especially true if you have more than one dog because they offer discounted rates to multiple dog families.

Lastly, we have high energy dogs - border collie/spaniel mixes - and there is nothing better than a happy, tired dog at night. (Similarly, there is nothing worse than a bored, under-exercised board collie destroying everything is can get its paws on). As soon as the dogs get in the car a night, they go right to sleep. On the other hand, in the morning when we get near You Lucky Dog!, they start to howl with excitement and are clearly agitated if there is any traffic because they can't wait to play! If you are considering where to take your dog for daycare and boarding, we recommend calling YLD! We took our dogs to other places prior to finding You Lucky Dog and we know we have now found the best place for our dogs.

Regards,

Anne and Jamie

I'm not sure who enjoys You Lucky Dog more: my wife and I, or our dog Bubba. Bubba is a lab mix that we adopted from the Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital Rescue program. She is a sweet dog, but we could tell that she craved canine companionship, and You Lucky Dog has been the answer! Wendy, Mike and the rest of the You Lucky Dog staff are great. Not only do they provide a secure and safe environment for Bubba to play and bond with other dogs, but they also have given us great advice on ways we can make Bubba a better and happier pet.

Bubba comes home from You Lucky Dog exhausted and contented. Before we found You Lucky Dog, my wife and I would come home from work to face a dog starving for companionship and exercise. We walked her and played with her, but it was clear that she needed more exercise and time with other dogs. Her untapped energy would sometime manifest itself in some unwanted behavior, such as barking and defiance. That behavior pretty much disappeared immediately once we began taking Bubba to You Lucky Dog. One visit a week to You Lucky Dog became two visits, and two visits has now become three. My wife and I look forward to those days as much as Bubba. We know that while we are working, Bubba is having the time of her doggy life, playing and interacting with all of the other great dogs at You Lucky Dog. Bubba truly is living a dog's life.

Hi! My name is Mollie and I LOVE going to You Lucky Dog! My mom has been bringing me here 2-3 times a week since she adopted me about a year and half ago. My mom says I am a princess so only the best is good enough for me! I have even been able to stay overnight a couple of times. I heard mom talk about how she "checked it out" before she brought me here. I am not sure what that means but I do know she poked around everywhere and talked to my human friends about some stuff before she would let me stay. All I know is that I love all the attention I get here. My canine friends are the best! Before I started coming here I was not sure how to act around other dogs but now I am a real party girl! I have even learned some manners which my mom is happy about (still working on not jumping on people when I see them!). Anyway I hope my mom always lets me come to You Lucky Dog because when I do, I am one Happy Dog!

Emma has been attending You Lucky Dog daycare since September of 2005. YLD offers me peace of mind knowing that "my baby" is in a safe, clean and interactive environment. Wendy and her caring staff take the time to get to know each dog's personality and ensure that they are matched to appropriate play groups. Since her adoption from a rescue organization, Emma has made great progress with her confidence and trust issues. I attribute much of this to her time at YLD. She has great fun with her canine and human buddies and has particularly bonded with the male staff. (Thank you, Jim and Mike!) After a day playing at YLD, Emma settles blissfully to sleep on the ride home. I couldn't ask for anything more! Keep up the good work!

We've been loyal You Lucky Dog patrons for a year and a half since we first learned about it. Our dog boards with You Lucky Dog on our not infrequent out-of-state trips to visit family and also goes to daycare one day per week. Wendy and her staff are wonderful... they are professional, conscientious, responsive and extremely dedicated to what they do. They know each owner and dog and provide hands-on care and attention to the dogs constantly; it's really that personalized and hands-on component that differentiates You Lucky Dog. The dogs get great exercise (including swimming in the pools outside!) and have lots of fun, but also get human supervision, playtime and interaction.

My dog, Bailey, has been attending You Lucky Dog for almost two years. He attends daycare 5 to 6 days per week. My words cannot truly express how lucky we were to find You Lucky Dog daycare. The staff is absolutely wonderful. They are loving, caring, kind, thoughtful and friendly. They understand how precious my boy is to me and treat him as if he were their own.

My dog is like my child and I would not trust him to just anyone. I tried another facility before I found You Lucky Dog and I was not happy with it for many reasons. Therefore, I stopped taking Bailey to a place that did not meet with my high standards.

Not only is the staff loving and kind, but the facility is always clean. Come in any day, any time, and you will see a well kept daycare full of love.

Bailey gets to play and interact not only with the other dogs, but with the staff as well. He gets a lot of exercise, attention and love from a dedicated staff. Due to the great care my boy gets at You Lucky Dog, my days are not filled with unease or anxiety worrying about Bailey.

If you are considering a daycare service for your dog, I can heartily recommend the staff and facilities at You Lucky Dog.

I feel fortunate to have found a place for Teddy to stay during the day. The staff at You Lucky Dog are attentive to the needs of each individual dog. They seem to have the welfare of each dog at heart.

The program is well structured, providing for exercise, play, interaction between dogs and between dogs and the staff, nap time, and meal time. Teddy is tired and happy when he comes home in the evening.

In the past he had trouble staying in the apartment because he would bark at every passerby. He would sometimes make a mess of things out of boredom.

Teddy is a challenging dog because of his need for stimulation. He is very smart, curious, and energetic. The staff at You Lucky Dog appreciate his qualities and give him the opportunity to do the things he likes best. He is a happier dog, and I am a happier dog owner for having found You Lucky Dog.

We just can't thank you enough for all the love and care you provide to Kasey! Dropping him off at YLD is like leaving him with family - actually, it's even better, because we know Kasey absolutely loves playing with all his friends (human and canine) at YLD! It's clear that you and your staff are devoted to providing the best experience peossible, both for the dogs and their owners. Having tried several other daycares in the area, I can honestly say that you guys are the BEST!!!

Thank you so much for everything!!!
